Connect n8n, Make or Zapier

Members can send tasks and ideas into Thinker from n8n, Make, Zapier or any tool that can make a web request. You make a key in Settings, then add one step to your automation. The tasks land in your Thinker like any other, so they can go on your Success Day.

Questions this answers

Can I add tasks to Thinker automatically?
Yes. Make a key in Settings, then add a step to n8n, Make or Zapier that sends the task to Thinker. It arrives in your tasks like one you typed yourself.
Where do I find my Thinker API key?
In Settings, on the Claude and ChatGPT tab, under "Connect n8n, Make or Zapier". Thinker shows the key once, when you make it, so copy it straight away.
Who can use the API?
Anyone whose Thinker is switched on: paying members, people in their 14-day trial, and Thinkathon pass-holders until the pass ends. If your account is paused, your keys stop working until it's back on.
What if my key gets out?
Revoke it in the same place in Settings and make a new one. The old key stops working straight away.

If you already run automations in n8n, Make or Zapier, you can send tasks and ideas straight into Thinker from them. Once they're in, Thinker treats them like anything else you've added, so the important ones can go on your Success Day.

For example, say you run a podcast. When a guest books a recording, your automation can add "Prep for [guest]'s interview" to Thinker, due the day before. You never have to remember to type it in.

Step 1: make your key

  1. 1Open Settings and go to the Claude and ChatGPT tab.
  2. 2Find "Connect n8n, Make or Zapier".
  3. 3Type what the key is for, like "n8n podcast bookings", and press Make a key.
  4. 4Press Copy and keep the key somewhere safe, like your password manager. Thinker only shows it once.

Step 2: add a step to your automation

In your automation, add a step that sends a web request:

  • n8n: an HTTP Request node
  • Make: the HTTP app, with the Make a request module
  • Zapier: Webhooks by Zapier, with the Custom Request event (Webhooks needs a paid Zapier plan)

Set it up like this:

  • Method: POST
  • Address (URL): https://mythinker.io/api/v1/tasks
  • A header called Authorization, with the value Bearer followed by a space and your key
  • Body type: JSON, with the task's title, and a due date if it has one

The body looks like this, with your own words in place of the examples:

{"title": "Prep for Sam's interview", "dueDate": "2026-11-03"}

The due date is written year, month, day. Leave it out and the task has no due date.

Run the step once to test it. The task should appear in your tasks in Thinker straight away.

Other things you can do

  • See your tasks: GET https://mythinker.io/api/v1/tasks
  • Add a note to a task: POST https://mythinker.io/api/v1/tasks/{id}/notes with {"body": "your note"}, where {id} is the task's id from the list above
  • Send in an idea: POST https://mythinker.io/api/v1/ideas with {"idea": "your idea"}. It lands in your Ideas, ready for Thinker to weigh it.

Every one of these needs the same Authorization header with your key.

Turning it off

Go back to "Connect n8n, Make or Zapier" in Settings. Each key is listed with when it was made and when it was last used. Press Revoke next to the one you want to turn off. Anything using it stops working straight away, and everything it already added stays in your Thinker.

Rather use Claude or ChatGPT?

If you'd like to talk to Thinker from Claude or ChatGPT instead of building an automation, there's a separate connector for that. See Connect Claude or ChatGPT.
